Xterminate Slot Demo
Playing Xterminate was quite the adrenaline rush. The 5×6 video slot immerses you in a thrilling, cyberpunk-themed world with high volatility and a chance for a massive 25,000x win. The visuals are top-notch, with vibrant colors and dynamic animations that really bring the anarchic setting to life. I appreciated the unique features like the avalanche mechanic and the Xterminate multiplier, which kept the gameplay engaging and offered the potential for big wins. However, the low RTP of 94.12% and uneven math model can make it a tough ride, especially during long stretches without significant payouts.

My List of Pros & Cons
Xterminate has a few excellent features and mechanics. However, it is ultimately let down by other elements:
- 25,000x maximum win
- Xterminate multiplier system
- All action happens in the base game
- Excellent use of the avalanche feature
- Low RTP rates
- Very uneven math model
Prepare for the ultimate cyberpunk clash in Xterminate by Thunderkick. The slot places you in the midst of a futuristic, anarchic protest where AI, robots and all that futuristic sci-fi goodness somehow collide.
Visuals are on point as always, with a cool theme that splashes all kinds of colours on your screen. You get brilliant graphics here, with subtle animations and an appropriate soundtrack to boot. Building on that great look are the slot’s features, including wilds, sticky wilds, win multipliers and an avalanche feature.
From the get-go, Thunderkick immediately warns that this is an extremely volatile slot and not one for the faint of heart. But is the challenge ultimately worth it, or does Xterminate feel like a battle not worth championing? Read on below to find out now!

Pro Tips:
Volatility here is extremely high, so I recommend sticking to a low bet level, something that can stretch out your gambling budget and get you as many spins as possible. You’ll need to hit a lucky avalanche streak to get to the biggest prizes, so buying yourself more rounds will increase your chances of success. You can also try out the Bet+ options if you’re able to afford them and go for the ones that increase your chances of landing cluster wins on each round. Be sure to take that cost into account when deciding on your bet level.
Xterminate Slot Bonus Features
The revolution begins on six reels and five rows with a mix of low and high-paying symbols dropping down and potentially forming wins through a cluster pays system. You need a minimum of eight identical symbols landing next to each other (connected vertically, horizontally or diagonally) to create a winning cluster.
This in turn triggers the Avalanche feature, which removes all winning symbols from the reels and has new symbols cascade from above to fill up the empty positions. If new wins are formed, then the avalanche mechanic is repeated. This feature ends once you have no more new wins.
The lowest paying symbols are represented by spray-painted 10 to A royal cards, but higher up the ladder you get a spray can, a spiky bat, a gas mask and a red-eyed robot. Clusters of eight to nine identical symbols get you prizes of up to 4x your bet, while clusters with more than 12 identical symbols can score you anywhere from 3x to 7x your stake.
Xterminate doesn’t have a free spins bonus, so all of the included special features take place during base game spins.
Xterminate Multiplier Feature
Whenever you score a winning cluster, that win’s value (in multiplier format) is accumulated by the Xterminate multiplier which is displayed atop the grid. Each win is first multiplied by the existing Xterminate multiplier before it is added to the Xterminate multiplier.
So, the multiplier starts at 1x and increases with each new win that drops through avalanches and cascades. Once an avalanche has no more new wins, the Xterminate multiplier is multiplied by your bet level and the resulting prize is paid out. The multiplier resets on each new spin.
Bomb Symbol
If you land a bomb symbol on the reels and don’t get any winning clusters, the symbol will explode, removing a bunch of symbols from the grid and making room for new ones to drop. This doesn’t affect the most common symbol in view, charged wilds or other bomb symbols. If you happen to have an equal number of common symbols, then the highest paid of the two is held.
Wilds
Known as charged wilds, these symbols step in for all other symbols in the game, except the bomb. They can help you put together winning combinations and even enhance existing ones for a bigger payout. This time, they come with anywhere between one to three lives, which are randomly awarded. You lose a life when the wild is involved in a win and once all lives are spent, the charged wild is removed from the grid. Even if the symbol is involved in several wins simultaneously, it will only lose one life.
Bet+
Although you don’t get a free spins bonus, you’re still treated to a few bonus buy options through the Bet+ feature. This includes the following:
- Win Boost – Pay 2x your stake to double the chance of landing winning clusters. RTP goes up to 94.25%
- Win Boost Plus – Pay 5x your bet to have five times more chance of landing winning clusters. RTP is increased to 94.35%
- Guaranteed Win – Pay 10x your stake for each spin to be guaranteed at least one winning cluster. RTP is pushed up to 94.45%.
RTP & Volatility of Xterminate Slot
Xterminate is a very highly volatile slot, so wins and special feature triggers can be incredibly hard to come by. You also get two RTP options at 94.12% and 87.14%. Both are very low and make it all that much harder to land significant wins and get close to the slot’s max win of 25,000x your stake.
The slot is developed by Thunderkick, a provider with an excellent track record for creating trustworthy and legitimate games over the years. So, you can rest assured that Xterminate is a fair and safe slot to play. You should enjoy it at online casinos with equally strong reputations, ideally ones with licenses from trusted gambling regulators.
Xterminate Slot on Mobile
Fight against the machine… on even more machines! Xterminate can be played on mobile phones and tablets too and is compatible with both Android and iOS devices. You get all the same features, graphics and win potential here, but the game adjusts its interface to make sure you get the best view possible based on your screen size. You can also play the game in landscape or portrait modes.
My Verdict on Xterminate
I went into Xterminate with pretty high hopes. Thunderkick has delivered some excellent games in the past and this felt like the sort of release that could stand head-to-head with the best of them. But ultimately, Xterminate ended up feeling more like a half-baked concept rather than a fully-fledged, polished game.
Let’s start with the visuals. Sure, the graphics look as great as anything else the provider has put out there. There’s a very lively colour palette going on, with high-quality designs that bring the anarchic cyberpunk theme to life. But it does all somehow feel generic, with a lack of specificity that makes it all feel a bit rushed or underdeveloped.
The same can be said of the feature list. While I love the idea of having all the special features working within the base game spins, it just feels like the game could have had more layered elements added in there. The bomb and charged wild sure add more depth to the feature set, but I think the slot could have used a couple of additional boosts. The best thing about the game is ultimately the excellent connection between the avalanche feature and the Xterminate multiplier. It can lead to the slot’s biggest wins and although it takes a while to get it going sometimes, once it gets rolling, it can be incredibly satisfying.
Math model is unfortunately another issue here. Volatility has been cranked up to the highest setting and it’s not adequately supported by the RTP ranges. The highest RTP is 94.12%, which isn’t anywhere near the level it should be for a slot like this. It makes it frustratingly difficult to get wins and special feature triggers, which can make the game extremely off-putting to casuals and beginners.
Ultimately, Xterminate feels like a misfire for Thunderkick, and while I appreciate the efforts made here for innovation, they don’t deliver on their promise.

You can also check out the following frequently asked questions that can shed more light on the game’s offerings.
No, Xterminate doesn’t have a free spins bonus. Instead, you’ll need to hope for consistent wins to come through the avalanche feature, helping you grow your Xterminator multiplier to score better wins.

Wilds can have up to three lives, so they can form part of up to three consecutive wins from avalanche drops.
You need a minimum of eight identical symbols to form a winning cluster. The symbols need to be connected vertically, horizontally or diagonally.
