Xmas Magic Slot Review
Disappointingly, Play’n Go’s answer to Christmas is the Xmas Magic slot and it’s not the jolliest thing we’ve ever seen. It’s a very vanilla approach to the theme and there aren’t any innovative features to reel you in. While there is a lucrative free spins round, it’s nothing we haven’t seen before. We’ll go into more detail below in our review so you can make your own mind up.

Xmas Magic Bonus features
We were hoping the Xmas Magic bonus features would make up for the lack of imagination in the theme, but unfortunately that’s not the case. In fact the Xmas Magic features appear to be almost an exact replica of Play’n Go’s Happy Halloween slot. In any case, the features that are present can be quite lucrative, and we’ll go through them in detail below.
Wilds
During the base game, the golden gift box wild symbol can appear on reels two to five to substitute for all symbols except scatters. During the free spins round, the wild can also appear stacked, giving you even more chances to win.
Scatter symbol
Santa Claus is the scatter symbol in this slot, and three or more of him on the first three reels will trigger the free spins round.
Free Spins
Once you’ve scored Xmas Magic free spins (no deposit needed), you’ll be awarded 10 free spins, each played at the same bet level that triggered the round. The cool thing about the Xmas Magic free spins round is that high paying symbols can stack into sets of four symbols to give you more chances to win.
Additionally, on each free spin you’ll see two wild symbols appear on reels two to five. These can also stack and increase your chances further. The free spins round is retriggerable by finding three more scatters, which will award you an additional 10 free spins. It’s here that you can play for the maximum prize of 4,000x your stake.
Bonus Game
There isn’t a bonus game in Xmas Magic which is a shame, as this would have made the game much more festive and fun.
Xmas Magic Jackpot
A Xmas Magic progressive jackpot would have also made this slot stand out from the rest, but unfortunately, Play’n Go has opted not to include one. Despite Xmas Magic having no jackpot, however, there are wins of up to 4,000x to play for, so it can still pay out quite hefty prizes. But if you’re after more of a thrill, you should definitely check out some of the other jackpot slots on offer.
RTP and Volatility
One of the things going for Xmas Magic is the volatility – it’s that famous high volatility from Play’n Go we’ve come to know and love. When paired with the Xmas Magic return to player of 96.5%, we found some nice big prizes to come out of the slot if you play for long enough. If you’re not familiar with Play’n Go’s high volatility slots, we recommend having a try of their slots with different levels of variance to see the difference. And if you’d like a bit more guarantee, hit some even better value RTP slots.
Bonus Spins
If you’re in the festive mood and still want to give this slot a spin, have a look out for communication from casinos like Casumo and Karamba. These guys may offer Xmas Magic bonus spins to give you a chance to test out the new slot.
Xmas Magic Mobile
Being such a simple slot, Xmas Magic is widely available for mobile play – and the fact that there’s not much going on in the game makes it easy to play on a smaller screen.
