My Personal Opinion on the Store Wars Slot

The design of Store Wars caught my attention immediately. Something about the urban style appealed to the inner Storage Wars fan in me, and Popiplay’s inimitable style ensures the game stands out.

The features are excellent, too, with a massive free spins feature that set me up with a selection round, delivered up to 18 free spins, and gave me up to 9 Sticky Wilds. An additional feature would have really helped, though, such as a Bonus Round that fully explores the theme.

It’s good, but imagine this game with a feature that puts you in the middle of the so-called “store war”. It would have been the icing on the cake.

How We Rate and Review Slots

I have been playing and reviewing slots for a long time, and in each one of those reviews, I endeavour to provide as much information as possible. Personal opinion comes into it, but everyone is different, so these reviews are more about critical coverage, including aspects such as:

  • Gaming mechanics and features
  • Betting range
  • Maximum payout
  • Design and gameplay
  • Key metrics such as the RTP and volatility level
  • User experience

Pros & Cons of the Store Wars Slot

I enjoyed playing Store Wars. The theme is great, the Wilds are excellent, and everything kicks up a gear once the feature launches. I didn’t have a lot of luck playing the game, but that just means the RNG didn’t fall in my favour, and your experience could be completely different.

I would have liked to see another Bonus Round, though. A feature that played into the auction theme wouldn’t have gone amiss—even a few extra modifiers would have been welcome. The maximum payout could be higher, as well.

Pros
  • Thumbs-Up Free Spins
  • Thumbs-Up Unique Theme
  • Thumbs-Up Multiplier Wild Symbols
  • Thumbs-Up Sticky Wild Symbols
Cons
  • Thumbs-Down Only One Main Feature
  • Thumbs-Down Low Max Payout of 3,525x

Professional Tips

The reels of the Store Wars slot are filled with symbols of treasures, junk, and eccentric bidders, with the latter three symbols providing the biggest payouts.

💡I recommend checking the game’s symbols, payouts, and rules before playing. Just click the menu icon in the bottom left, followed by the moneybags symbol. You will find everything you need in there.

Also, this is a high-volatility game, so prepare for long spells without wins and make sure you have the bankroll to accommodate them.

Store Wars Slot Bonus Features and Free Spins

store wars screenshot

The features are one of the areas that let the Store Wars slot down. There is a Wild symbol, but it only appears on 3 of the 5 reels, and while there is a free spins feature with Sticky Wilds, that’s the lot. Still, I enjoyed the features that were available, and if I had been a little luckier, I probably would have enjoyed them more!

Wilds

The Wild saves its best tricks for the free spins feature (see below), but it also appears in the base game.

It substitutes for all main symbols, except the Scatter, and delivers a multiplier of 2x or 3x. You can’t fill a payline with these symbols, though, as they don’t land on the first or final reels, so they are just there to substitute for other symbols.

Free Spins

The Scatter appears on the first, third, and fifth reels and unlocks a free spin feature. It begins with a selection process where you click boxes to reveal spins (there are 9 boxes in total, and in my experience, most are hiding 3 spins each).

In the feature, Wild symbols stick to the reels, remain throughout, and boost wins 3x.

The Wild symbol only appears on the three middle reels, so you can’t fill the grid with them, but you can catch as many as 9 of them. A minimum of 9 free spins and a maximum of 18 could add up to some sizeable wins, but not in my case.

The first time I unlocked the free spins, I revealed a total of 11 spins (3, 3, and 5) and won just 5x. Thankfully, it was in demo mode, and I bought the bonus for 75x using the little “Buy Bonus” box. If not, I would have been very unhappy.

I can’t imagine waiting around for dozens of spins or paying real money to buy the feature and then getting that.

The second time was a little better. Again, I bought it (I didn’t have much luck unlocking it automatically, but that’s just me), and again, I revealed 11 spins in the same way as before. This time, I hit Sticky Wilds straight away, and they made a little difference.

It still wasn’t great, though, and I won 28x. Keep this in mind if you keep plugging away in the hope of hitting the feature and winning big.

Store Wars Slot Design and Visuals

The theme of the Store Wars slot looks like a post-apocalyptic world crossed with Storage Wars, as if Mad Max suddenly felt the inclination to bid for unclaimed treasures. It sounds odd, but it works very well—the perfect combination.

There is a little dynamism, including glittering lights, swaying characters, and the occasional “Bid” signs held aloft, but the main draw is the action on the reels.

I have always been impressed with Popiplay’s designs, including the simple but colourful Bubbles and the excellent Guns and Dragons, and this is another one to add to the list.

How to Play the Store Wars Slot

There are no complicated features in the Store Wars slot, so I was able to get started without issue.

  1. Choose between demo mode (also listed as “Free Play”) or real money play. I tried both for the purpose of this review.
  2. Click the menu icon to familiarise yourself with the rules and features.
  3. Set your stake in the “Total Bet” area using the plus and minus buttons.
  4. Press the big button in the bottom right to spin the reels. There is a “Buy Bonus” icon, and it costs 75x to buy the feature, but there are no guarantees of a payout, and this option isn’t available to UK players.

Store Wars Slot Mobile Compatibility

After trying the Store Wars slot on Android and iPhone, I can confirm that the game works well on both. I don’t really have a preference, though, as there aren’t enough fancy animations or features to complicate the game enough to make it better on certain platforms.

On the plus side, it should be compatible with whatever device you have, even if it’s an older tablet or phone.

Ending Thoughts

Although I enjoyed the Store Wars slot, I thought it fell short of being excellent. It needed something else to elevate it—some modifiers, a Wild Reel, a Bonus Round. Without those extra, it’s still a great slot, but it’s all about those free spins and the Sticky Wilds they produce. Check it out and see if you feel the same way.

FAQs

If you can’t find the answers you need in the above Store Wars review, check out the FAQs below. Still need some answers? Contact me—I’ll be happy to help.

You need to reveal 3 Scatter symbols on the game reels. These appear on the first, third, and final reels.

There is no fixed amount, and you can claim anywhere from 9 to 18 spins. As soon as the feature begins, you’ll be taken to a storage room with 9 boxes. Select 3 of these boxes to collect spins from each one.

It depends on your jurisdiction. You can’t do this if you’re in the UK, as such features were banned several years ago, but you can access this option in other regions. It costs 75x your stake to buy the feature.

The most you can win in the Store Wars slot is 3,525x. It’s not the highest max payout you will find, but it’s certainly not the lowest.
