If you’ve ever played the original Snakes and Ladders board game, you’ll be familiar with at least one of the bonus features, the board bonus round, in this Megadice edition. The other focal points include a dice wild with multipliers and the progressive snake feature appearing in the base game. Let’s inspect all slot features more closely.

Wilds

The dice is a multiplier wild that can substitute all symbols except scatters when building winning combinations. Each dot on the dice represents a multiplier value of up to 3x. Wilds also contribute towards the snake progressive feature, which we’ll explain below.

Scatters

Snake scatters can appear anywhere on the screen, and when at least 3 of these symbols hit the reels, you’ll activate the board bonus game.

Snake Progressive Feature

A huge snake hangs on top of your reels in the base game. It has 11 sections, and each time you land a wild symbol, those sections get filled, depending on the number on each of the wild dice. If you’re struggling to land scatters during the base game, filling all positions on the snake will trigger the main bonus round. Overfill the snake, and you’ll earn extra rolls for the bonus game. However, if you decide to adjust your stake during the feature, you’ll lose whatever progress you’ve made on the snake.

Snakes and Ladders Board Bonus

The board bonus round begins when you fill all 11 positions on the snake or land 3+ scatters. When triggered with the snake, the bonus round awards 12 dice rolls plus extra rolls you’ve gathered during the base game, up to 17. Triggering the round with 3, 4 and 5 scatters awards 12, 14 and 16 dice rolls respectively. During the bonus round, the regular reels will change into a 144-square board game style grid of 12×12. The squares are either blank or have random modifiers, including money awards of up to 100x, multipliers, ladders, snakes, bananas and skyscrapers. You’ll start at the bottom on square one and make your way through the board after each dice roll. If you land on a ladder, you’ll move up several positions, but if you land on the mouth of a snake, you’ll slither down, just like in the real board game. Bananas add random money awards to the grid and skyscrapers can move you to a random position up the board. The round is retriggerable, and you’re guaranteed to win a minimum of 20x your stake during this board bonus game.
