Primate King Bonus Features

Primate King is not a slot of many slot features. It functions extensively on the wild upgrade feature and the possibility of unlocking a sixth reel, should you collect enough gold coins. Other than that, there aren’t any bonus rounds here as such, but that doesn’t mean that you should skip it. The random Primate Smash feature alone could bring you some lucrative wins once you’re left playing with high-paying symbols only.

Wilds

Primate King, the slot’s protagonist, is the wild symbol and substitutes for all paying symbols. Later in the game, it also acts as a base for special wild upgrades, which we’ll look at in more detail below.

Primate Upgrade Feature

Whenever a random symbol carrying a golden coin hits the reels, those coins get collected in the Primate Wild Progress meter, which in return unlocks new wild features. The more coins you collect, the better rewards you’ll unlock via the 3 levels.

When you’ve collected enough coins to trigger the first level, the Primate Wild symbol will turn to a full 1×4 stacked super wild. The second level adds a multiplier to your already stacked wild. And finally, the third level converts your stacked wilds with a multiplier into a sticky wild which stays locked on the reels for several spins at a time. The multiplier will progress with each winning spin.

Even more promising is the potential of unlocking an additional reel which you’ll achieve by filling the coin meter fully. You’ll then see the Primate Wild Progress Bar transform into the 6th reel with high-paying symbols for some potentially big wins.

Primate Smash Feature

Occasionally, you’ll have the Primate Smash feature trigger at a random whenever you land a dead spin but have the Primate King wild in view. He’ll then roar and smash the reels so hard that all the low-paying symbols fly off the grid, and you’ll be left with only high-paying symbols. The gaps will then fill with other high-paying symbols for a guaranteed win.
