Mad Cars Review
Stained in nostalgic sepia colour, Mad Cars is a 5×6 reel and 50-payline slot from Push Gaming. It’s not your ordinary The Fast and The Furious or Gone in 60 Seconds type of street race. It’s a full-on post-apocalyptic chase for instant prizes and multiplier boosters in bleak and dusty wild west themed surroundings. Taking a base game car across the finish line will be rewarding, but the real action doesn’t start until you complete the race with a futuristic-looking scatter. It’s quite a rush! Are you ready to release your inner racer and chase down the outlaws, each with a big price on their heads? Read our slot review to discover the ins and outs of one of the biggest drag races of the year.

Mad Cars Bonus Features
Mad Cars is called mad for a reason. The game might not have wilds, but it has plenty of other daring bonus slot features and win boosters. The Boost Reel is one such feature that can make or break your midnight car chase. The free spins bonus round brings another lot of awesome modifiers, and there’s a convenient bonus buy function with four different options available to non-UK players. Fasten your seatbelt and keep reading; there’s much more to discover here.
Instant Prize Cars
Like we said, there are no wilds in Mad Cars, but instead, you’ll get to race some instant prize cars bearing multipliers of up to 100x your stake. These can only appear on the bottom row, one car per reel, and award respective prizes when they cross the top row. For the car to start moving, you’ll want to look out for a petrol can icon appearing on the Boost Reel. Each time the icon shows, it will move the car below it one or several positions up the reel, depending on the digit appearing on the fuel can. Whenever one car exceeds the top row, all other instant prize cars will disappear from the grid unless the Survivor modifier is triggered from the special bonus reel. In which case, the affected car stays on the reels. If multiple cars cross the finish line at the same time, all their multipliers are collected.
Scatters
Watch out for a car with a flaming skull on it. It’s the game’s scatter symbol. Like the instant prize cars, it also moves across the reels with the help of the petrol can bonus symbols but has a fixed 10x multiplier attached to it. Crossing the top row with the scatter car will trigger the bonus round called Mad Bonus and award the said multiplier.
Boost Reel
Positioned above the main grid, the Boost Reel provides the following random boosts to your instant prize cars:
- Fuel cans – Enable the cars to advance the reels up to 6 positions.
- Multipliers – Boost the initial instant prize car multiplier by 2x, 3x, 5x, 10, 25, 50x or 100x.
- Multiplier & Fuel Can Combo – Awards a combination of the above.
- Survivor – Locks the respective car on the reels even if another car crosses the finish line.
More often than not, the special reel will display blank spots with no value, so better luck next time!
Mad Bonus Free Spins
Activated with a scatter car crossing the top row, the Mad Bonus round awards 7free spins and a bunch of new modifiers. The regular reels transform into a dusty race track with 5 instant prize cars placed at the bottom of the grid. Like in the base, the Boost Reel helps move the cars across the finish line and boosts their multipliers. As soon as a car wins the race, its multiplier is added to the counter, and a new car with a random multiplier is placed at the bottom of the grid. Plus you get an extra 1 free spin. During the round, the Survivor mode is deactivated, but you have 4 additional modifiers to look forward to:
- Line up – All instant prize cars get in line with the leading car.
- Persistent Payer – Boosts all cars’ in view multipliers with its own on the current spin and beyond, until it reaches the top.
- Persistent Collector – Collects all the values from other cars in view and applies them to its own win multiplier on every current spin and beyond, until it crosses the finish line.
- Persistent Payer/Collector – First applies its value to other cars, then collects for the current and all the following spins, until it reaches the top of the grid.
Mad Race Feature
Finally, there’s the Mad Race function that can trigger randomly on the last spin of the Mad Bonus feature. When triggered, it will take all cars across the finish line and reward prizes accordingly.
Mad Cars Jackpot
Mad Cars doesn’t have a progressive jackpot, but when the max potential is set to 25,000x your stake, it feels like one.
RTP and Volatility
The game comes with a high level of volatility, which is exactly what you want in a slot with such a high max exposure. However, the one thing that can spoil your car racing experience is the 5-mode customisable RTP. Look out for casinos offering a default rate of 96.39% if you can.
