Eye of Horus Megaways review
If this new slot from Blueprint Gaming looks or sounds familiar, that’s because it is. Based on the hugely popular Eye of Horus slot from Merkur Gaming (which is now increasingly harder to find online), Eye of Horus Megaways has proven that you really can’t beat the classics.
Though the slot may look, sound and feel similar, it does, of course, come with its own spin, namely the Megaways function which takes the paylines up to a huge 15,625 ways to win. We’ll go through each of the functions in our review, so read on to learn more.

Eye of Horus Megaways bonus features
The standout feature of this slot is in the name – it’s the Megaways. This function adds the sixth reel to the grid, along with an asymmetrical number of symbols, ranging from two to five across each reel. This mechanism allows for an obscure number of paylines, which in Eye of Horus Megaways totals 15,625.
Of course, there are other important bonus features to note in this slot, and we’ll go through them now to give you a better idea of what to look out for.
Free spins
The free spins round in Eye of Horus Megaways can be quite lucrative since it doesn’t just stop at free spins – you can also score symbol upgrades. To kick things off though, you need to find three or more of the temple doorway scatter symbols to earn 12 free spins.
During the round, the Horus wild symbol can land and beam his light into random symbols to upgrade them to higher-paying symbols. He’ll also remove lower paying symbols from the reels to make room for more valuable symbols, thus giving you more chances to win more. Furthermore, landing one, two, or three wilds during free spins will also retrigger one, three, or five extra spins respectively.
Wilds
As mentioned above, the Horus symbol himself is wild. He’ll substitute for any other symbols except scatters to help complete your winning combinations. The best part about the wild, however, is that whenever one lands you’ll see the symbol expand to cover the reel, giving you even more chances to win.
Eye of Horus Megaways jackpot
While there isn’t a jackpot in this slot, Eye of Horus Megaways can pay out much higher than the original, with a huge maximum win of 50,000x your stake.
RTP and volatility
The return to player of 95.02% is on the average side, but certainly, nothing to sniff at – and with a medium to high level of volatility, Eye of Horus Megaways actually has the potential to pay out a nice mix of low and high wins. You might not see the higher wins hit as frequently, but you’ll definitely feel the thrill if it happens.
Eye of Horus Megaways on mobile
Blueprint Gaming has evidently worked hard to optimise their new slot release for mobile, so players can enjoy the slot across a range of devices and platforms. The six reels aren’t too wide to be enjoyed on a smaller screen either, making this a great game to play on the go.
