But here the mechanic is underutilised, resulting in a lacklustre experience that always feels like it’s missing that special something.

The base game is quite the drag with nothing beyond the cascading reels to keep you busy. I was hoping that free spins would make that wait worth my while, but the result turned out to be just as boring. Sure, wild multipliers add some much-needed action into the mix, but they’re still incredibly basic and fall short of the experiences created by other games.
